Please read this information thoroughly before lighting your new candle.  Burning candles should be taken seriously to keep yourself, our family and your property safe.

  • Trim your wick to 5mm before each lighting to avoid smoking and overheating.

  • Always protect the surface on which the candle sits.

  • The first burn of any candle should be long enough for wax to melt to the edge of your container. This will ensure an even burn for each light.

  • Avoid burning candles longer than 4 hours at a time, and never burn a candle when there is less than 1cm of wax at the base.

  • Never leave a candle burning unattended or within reach of drafts, pets, or small children.

  • Allow the wax to cool completely before handling the container as it will be hot.

  • Extinguish the flame carefully with a snuffer or a teaspoon, rather than blowing on it.

  • Once the flame is upright and centred once extinguished.

Each candle is different so make sure that you thoroughly read and follow the manufacturers instructions on correct lighting, burning and extinguishing.

What to do if your candle is not burning correctly
If your candle begins to flicker or smoke, extinguish the flame carefully and allow to cool.  Recenter the wick and check for any draughts before re-lighting.
